Q. May I pay by check or do I need to use credit card?
A. Yes, you can pay by check. Simply check the box on the online registration form for that purpose.
Q. Can I register for just one day?
A. There are two registration options, a two-day or three-day conference package.
Q. Can I bring my spouse or family?
A. Yes. If they want to participate in workshops, events, meals or the CETA Awards, they would either need to register for the full conference, or buy meals separately as your guest.
Q. I’m a new teacher. Will there be info to help me?
A. Yes! New teachers or teachers new to theatre are encouraged to attend. We have wonderful resource materials for you as part of your membership. There will also be a workshop on theatre opportunities for your students and networking with mentor teachers and other new teachers.
Q. Will there be sessions for all levels, K – University?
A. Yes. Most of our sessions are adaptable for many levels. We will have suggested strands for grade levels and topics of interest.
Q. Can I earn academic credit for my salary points?
A. Yes. Visit the Academic Units section of the site.
Q. I already belong to another theatre organization. Why should I join CETA?
A. Because CETA represents you as a professional. CETA is at the front line advocating for your profession and students–look at what we’ve done in the fight for the credential! We know how hard it is to stay on top of all of the legislative and budget issues. That’s why we’re here. We’re educators just like you, and we’re here to ensure theatre education is regarded as essential to the education of California students. Many of our members belong to multiple organizations because each of them offers different opportunities. CETA membership is essential on your list of professional affiliations.
Q. What if I need to cancel my conference registration?
A. You can cancel your CETA Conference registration or Exhibitor regisitration minus a $25 administrative fee until September 25th. After September 25th, there are no cancellations or refunds. Consult Holiday Inn Express for their cancellation policies.
Q. Do I have to attend every session?
A. No. It’s your conference experience. You can shape it the way you wish.
Q. Do I have to attend the conference in order to participate in festivals?
A. No, but we highly recommend you attend so that you can connect with the organizers and have all of your questions answered. It’s nice that you want to do something for your students, but how about something nice for you too?
Q. What is appropriate attire for the conference?
A. Casual, comfortable attire is appropriate for most of the conference. Our Awards Ceremony on Saturday eve is the only time we hope you’ll dress up a bit, but that depends on your personal workshop schedule.
